$1,000 A Day In May Official Contest Rules

 West Virginia Radio Corporation (“Company”) its subsidiaries and affiliated stations (“Stations”) will conduct the Contest substantially as described in these rules.  The Company may conduct the Contest concurrently and simultaneously on several participating stations licensed to, managed by or affiliated with the Company, and in various States.

Contest Description:

The “$1,000 A DAY IN MAY” contest will begin on Thursday, May 1, 2008, and end on Saturday, May 31, 2008 (“Contest Period”).  Each affiliate station will announce the “Song of the Day” weekdays at in the 7am EDT hour. “Song of the Day” selections for the nine weekend days in May will be posted in a sponsor location identified and promoted on the stations. 

The “Song of the Day” will play at as near the same identical time as possible between 8AM and 10PM EDT on the stations.  One minute into the song the contest telephone lines will open and the 100th caller will be given the chance to correctly identify the artist and title of the “Song of the Day” to win $1,000 in cash. If the 100th caller is incorrect, the process will go from caller to caller after number 100 until a winner has been established. All winners must conform to all requirements in these Official Contest Rules.

How to Enter & Execution:

The contest is open to listeners eighteen (18) years of age or over.  To participate in the contest, listeners must do the following:

1. Listen to either WKKW, Fairmont, West Virginia; WVMD, Midland-Frostburg-Cumberland, Maryland; WKWS, Charleston, West Virginia, Monday through Friday, between in the 7AM EDT hour to learn the artist and title of the “Song of the Day”. Continue listening to your station until the song is played on the air – sometime between 9AM and 10PM.

2. When you hear the “Song of the Day” play, call the toll free number being promoted on the station and, when asked by a personality, correctly identify the artist and the title of the “Song of the Day”.

3. Once a winner has been determined, the phone call will be recorded and then played back on the air on all participating stations.

4. All decisions regarding any aspect of the contest shall be made by company management and are final.

Eligibility Restrictions:

1. All winners of contest must be eighteen (18) years of age or older, and must have proper identification and proof of age (i.e. via driver’s license, passport or other photo I.D. with birth date).

(a) Employees of company, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, general sponsors, promotional partners, or any other radio stations owned by company; and members of their immediate households are ineligible to participate or win.

2. Listeners – one to a household - may win the $1000 “Song of the Day” only once during the promotion. Listeners who have won another contest or promotion of any kind - from any of the three participating stations - within a thirty-day (30) period may not participate.

Prizes:

1. All cash prizes MUST be verified at the offices of your local participating station. Proper identification and proof of age (i.e. driver’s license, passport or other photo I.D. with birth date) must be presented before prizes will be released to winners.

2. Company shall be responsible for generating winner checks and coordinating the delivery of these checks to the stations, or winners, including any and all costs associated therewith.  Checks will be processed within 21 business days of winning.

Legal Conditions:

1. Payment of all federal, state and local taxes is the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners may be required to sign an IRS form or the equivalent.

2. By participating in the contest, a winner agrees to have his or her name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest, and must sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize.  By entering this contest, each winner agrees to comply with these Official Contest Rules and with the decisions of the contest sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all aspects relating to the contest.

3. All contest winners will be required to sign a liability release.  Pursuant to the liability release, the winners will agree to hold company, and its officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives, as well as its subsidiaries, affiliates, general sponsors, promotional partners, harmless against any and all claims or liability, directly or indirectly related to or arising from the contest winner’s participation in the contest.

4. Odds of winning the one of the thirty-one $1,000 prizes will depend on the number of players generated by the three participating stations. Callers from all three participating stations will be directed to the same telephone line and will have an equal chance of winning. It is possible that all thirty-one winners can come from one station, the same odds that no winners will come from a participating station.

5. So long as no contestant is adversely affected in any material way, company reserves the right to make changes to the rules of the contest.  Any changes made will become effective once announced on the air.

6. No purchase is necessary.  The contest is void where prohibited.  This contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. 

7. Company, participating sponsors and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates or their representatives, agents and employees are not responsible for the inability of any contestant to complete or continue a telephone call due to service outages or interruptions, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions, inadvertent disconnections or any other technical difficulty.

8. Failure of a contestant to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant disqualification.

9. Company, its subsidiaries, its participating sponsors and promotional partners will not assume any responsibility for any changes in the execution of the contest, including; cancellation of the contest as a result of the occurrence of events not within the control of company, its subsidiaries, participating sponsors/promotional partners and other radio stations, such as Acts of God, Strikes and Terrorists Acts. 

10. Copies of these contest rules shall be available in the station offices of each local participating station during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, during the Contest Period. Players may also get a copy of the rules on station websites or by making the request in a letter and by including a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Jodi Bible, West Virginia Radio Corporation, 1251 Earl L.
