The Charleston Compassionate Friends is a self-help support group open to all parents who have lost a child. The goal of the group is to help those of all faiths understand what is happening and to provide support to get back on their feet. The group mostly meets on the 4th Monday of the month at 7 PM with a few exceptions depending on the holidays. Precious Paws, a group created by two ten year old girls, Ally & Alexis, will hold a spaghetti dinner and silent auction on Sat. March 20 from 11a - 4p at the Handley Town Hall. All proceeds benefit the Kanawha-Charleston Animal Shelter. Dinners are $5.00 and include spaghetti, cole slaw, roll and dessert. Patrons can eat in or carry our and we will deliver as far as Montgomery and Quincy. The silent auction includes gift certificates to local restaurants, candles, etc. and are still collecting items.
